This is what a small town in Texas should be like every Saturday. Starting a 8:00 a.m., there's a 5K and 10K Clean H2O Run hosted by our friends at Flaca's. We were walking across the farm today and spotted this patch of bluebonnets. I'm not sure why, but there's something about them that always makes me happy. Maybe because it means Spring is here...or perhaps if you're a native Texan, the emotion is simply innate.
Blooms should be at their peak here for the next week or two, so plan a trip to Hico and stop by the store to see us.
A couple of unique Valentine gift ideas this week in our Decor collection...the Heart Letter Holder and Heart Letter Opener. Vintage-looking cast iron with an oil rubbed bronze finish.

We know you can't always travel to Hico to shop...so we're bringing Hico to you. Many of our website photos were taken on the streets of downtown, in the store, or on local ranches...to give shoppers a feel for the area and the store.
Our family-owned business is located in the historic Wooden Indian Building on Pecan Street in Hico, Texas. The two-story stone building was built in the 1890's and we've operated our retail store there since October of 2013.
We're launching this site with some of our most popular products and will be adding new items every week, along with posts about local events, design ideas, and store promotions.
If you're coming to the area, check out all that's new in our old town. The Midland Hotel (pictured above) has just re-opened across the street. It was built in 1896 and has just undergone a complete restoration, now offering thirteen beautifully furnished guest rooms. (Think "Cowboy Cool") The hotel also houses the new Chop House Restaurant and 1896 Saloon. We've visited both...and are very impressed.
